GADSAR assisted BCAS with the transport of an injured mountain biker from a difficult access point. The subject was HETSed off the scene to BCAS at the base of KHMR and transported via ground to Golden hospital.

So as we all know the Rope kits need to be re organized and packed, Tonight is the night to make that happen! We will be buying a truck load of new colour co ordinated rope and webbing, and make new pruskis and webbing lengths for all our rope kits! 1930 at the SAR Hall

Mtn Rescue Senario!

  So for all those that were at the Mtn Rescue Course! We are going to do a Mtn Rescue Senario!! Be at the SAR Hall by 1900, Wear all the appropriate climbing gear and clothing for the weather! 

RCMP requested GADSAR to investigate a possible SOS near the east boundary of Glacier National Park. A HETS team was sent to the area where the sighting had occured but no subjects were found. GADSAR liaised with Parks Canada Public Safety personnel during the search.

GADSAR was called to investigate a possible downed hang glider off of Mt.7. 3 HETS technicians searched the area aboard a helicopter and found no sign of the hang glider.

GADSAR responded to an injured paraglider to the SW of the main launch pad of Mt.7. The paraglider was found to of sustained a minor ankle injury but was unable to negotiate the terrain safely on his own. GADSAR HETS technicians extricated the patient to the launch pad of Mt. 7 where he was met by friends.

July Executive Meeting

GADSAR was called to assist Invermere SAR with locating and assisting 2 overdue male climbers on the Kain route in the Bugaboos. The 2 males were located above the Bugaboo-Snowpatch col in good condition, after spending the night on the route. The 2 males returned to the Kain hut without incident.

GADSAR was called to assist BCAS with the extrication of a female rafter on the Kicking Horse River. The subject was taken from the scene to the Golden Hospital via HETS.
