Review of entonox, sager and spinal packaging. General overview of primary assessment, secondary assessment and vital signs

On March 31, 2012 5 members of GADSAR responded to an injured male sledder/skier inthe McLean Creek area. The subject was located and brought back to theSilent Pass trailhead via snowmobile. The injured male had sustained alower leg injury and was transferred to BCAS in Parson.

GADSAR was notified about an overfue skier late Friday. At first light on Saturday morning GADSAR members flew to International Basin to look for the overdue skier. Skier was found at the hut, had been weathered out. SKier was uninjured.

Hwy 1 patient extrication from single vehicle semi-trailer. Pt required jaws of life and extensive extrication to be removed from vehicle. Pt airlifted to Revelstoke.

Executive Committee Meeting for March 2012

GADSAR members received notification by the RCMP at 0100 on February 23 about 2 overdue sledders. At first light 3 members flew to Silent Pass and the McMurdo Hut to try and locate the individuals. The sledders were found unharmed.

Avalanche scenario utilizing basic rescue techniques. CARDA dog team will also be involved in scenario.

We will be doing first aid 2 which will involve scenarios and much more. Shauna Speers, resident first aid guru will be leading this training. As usual, previous attendance at a first aid 1 is not required and please dress for the weather as we might be outdoors.

We will be doing the second portion of our auto extrication training where we will be using the tools to cut a vehicle, previous attendance of an auto ex 1 is not required. Please bring steel toe boots and dress for the weather as we will be outside for the evening.
