We will discuss companion rescue, practise transceiver searches, proper probing and strategic shoveling technique. There will also be a scenario incorperated into the evening. Come prepared with your own Avalanche gear (we have spares if you need the gear), head lamp and dress to be out side for the evening. 

The 3rd GSAR test (ch 8 - 14) will be held at the SAR Hall @ 700pm. Sled orientation will also be held tonight, starting at 730pm after the GSAR test is completed.

We will go over the proper techniques for reading maps, using a compass and how to navigate using the two together.

The first test for the GSAR course will encompass Ch 1-4, study hard!

The first evening of the GSAR (ground search and rescue) will be held this evening at 730. Please meet in the Classroom.

The November Executive meeting will also be held tonight at 730. Please meet in the Office.

We will discuss the HETS (Human External Transport System) and its role in supporting search and rescue efforts within GADSAR and throughout the Province.

Switching from Summer to Winter gear. Come on out and get familiar with the Plethora of gear that we have and were it should live in its given season.

We will practise Ascending with prussiks, decending, stretcher rigging, passing knots, mechanical advantage systems, etc.

We will be putting away the gear used in last weekends Swift Water Rescue course. There will also be an opportunity to practise some dual rope rescue (tandem prussik / break rack) skills.
