Ground search heather mountain lodge

GADSAR was requested by the RCMP to assist in investigating distress calls from a female along the Kicking Horse River near the Spirit Square. 5 GADSAR members responded via ground to the location but were stood down as the missing female was found in a local establishment.

On Wednesday October 2, GADSAR was called out to assist the RCMP with a search for 2 missing males at the Go Organic Ranch in Parson. The missing subjects had not been seen since 1900 hrs and were poorly dressed for the cold evening. 5 members and a search dog responded via ground. GADSAR located the missing subjects after their attempt to paddle a canoe from Parson to Golden failed.

On Sept 6 GADSAR responded to Kinbasket Lk to search for an overdue boating party from the previous evening. 3 members responded via helicopter and 1 member via ground/boat to the Bush Harbour area. 3 adults, a 3 yr old and 3 month old were all located safe and sound near the Sullivan Arm by the heli-team.

Assisted Parks Canada with a K-9 search for a missing climber in Jasper National Park

GADSAR was called to assist the RCMP, BCAS and the GFD in an investigation of a distress call south of town. GADSAR deployed both a river and ground response to search the high probability areas. After searching the river between Nicholson and Golden with the jet boat and 2 kayakers, and searching the areas immediately adjacent to Reflection Lk, GADSAR was stood down as the group had made their way to Hwy 95. All members of the group were unharmed. Their inflatable raft had lost pressure during their float down the Columbia and the group had become bogged down in the marshy areas along the Columbia River and had become worried about their ability to safely navigate themselves back to dry land. 

GADSAR provided technical swift water rescue support to CVSAR for the search of a missing male subject whose vehicle had slid into Toby Creek. GADSAR assisted with downstream containment, shoreline searches and a sweep of Toby Creek. The male was found deceased under his vehicle.

GADSAR was asked to assist KHMR Mtn Safety in a search for an out of bounds missing skier. 4 members of GADSAR attended the scene and the young male skier was found unharmed.

GADSAR provided avalanche professional, CARDA and organized avalanche rescue assistance to Kimberley SAR in their search for a missing male sledder.
